Comox Valley RCMP officer finds hit-and-run victim who was struck by large tandem dump truck

Comox Valley RCMP are investigating a hit-and-run incident after one of their officers found the victim along the side of the road.

The incident occurred at around 7 a.m. Monday April 24th, on Comox Avenue, between Aitken Street and Manor Drive.

An officer in the area spotted the victim who reported being struck by a large tandem dump truck while he was riding an e-bike.

Paramedics transported the victim to hospital while officers searched the area for the truck, however, it was not located.

The truck was described as a grey dump truck that was towing a trailer. Police are urging the driver to come forward.

The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and is expected to recover.
