Goldstream Provincial Park goes viral with the help of a unique YouTuber

Vancouver Islanders will be happy, but U-Haul may not be…In the past couple days, Langford’s Goldstream Provincial Park went viral after a DIY luxury camping video garnered the attention of those on YouTube.

Steve Wallis, a YouTuber popularly known for building unique temporary shelters while stealth camping in urban areas recently rented a U-Haul and brought it to the Goldstream Park to show what it takes to transform an ordinary moving truck into a luxury camper. 

Ironically mentioning in his vlog, “I’ve had a past with U-Haul and they’re not so friendly with renting to me but life finds a way.”

In less than 24 hours, the YouTube video has now amassed nearly 400,000 views bringing a wealth of attention to the popular moving service. 

Wallis, who originally calls Edmonton home, has become a familiar face on Vancouver Island as well as the millions of viewers that watch his videos. 

Recently his creative ideas have found him camping at a roundabout in Langford, on Sooke’s Whiffin Spit, and even the ‘Welcome to Nanaimo’ sign along the Trans Canada Highway.
