Mother of deceased baby found in Victoria parking lot located
VicPD have confirmed the mother of a baby found deceased in a parking lot late Wednesday night has been located.
The deceased child was discovered abandoned in a parking lot on the corner of Kings Road and Blanshard Street which is occupied by Wendy’s and Subway.
Police were concerned for the welfare of the mother and asked for the public’s help in locating her.
Late Friday afternoon, VicPD say the woman has now been located and is receiving medical care and support.
It is believed the baby was born near the parking lot in which it was found.
VicPD added that an autopsy was completed this morning, which determined that the baby died of natural causes.
The circumstances are still under investigation by VicPD’s Major Crimes Unit and further details are not being released.
