Victoria Dragon Boat Festival’s gala dinner to make a comeback this year

Share

One of the go-to culinary events of the city is making a comeback this year to help raise funds for the Dragon Boat Festival in Victoria.

The ‘Dragon Feast’ gala will focus on Chinese cuisine, this time highlighting the delicacies of eastern China through long-time partner of the festival, Don Mee Seafood Restaurant.

This experience won’t just be like any other sit down meal at Don Mee though, the dishes served at the gala will be specially selected to accurately represent eastern China’s cuisine.

“This will be Victoria’s Premiere Chinese Food Culinary event of the year and you will find dishes representative of what one might find at special celebrations,” said Pei Mei Chia, Chair of the Dragon Boat Society.

“We have partnered with Don Mee Seafood Restaurant to produce a special menu that has been curated for the gala fundraiser. This will be the first such Chinese culinary event held in Victoria in many years. It will be a lot of fun.”

“Be ready to take your selfies and share with your friends.”

This will be a near-to black tie affair — meaning patrons are encouraged to dress in their best fashionable cocktail attire. The gala will also have entertainment, door prizes, raffles and a live auction, all in the effort to raise money for the Dragon Boat Society’s festival.

This year the Canada Dry Victoria Dragon Boat Festival will take place on August 12th and 13th in Victoria’s Inner Harbour.

The meal will take place on July 8th, buy tickets sell-out fast for this event every year.
