A half a dozen Vancouver Island restaurants are listed among the most popular brunch restaurants in the country based on feedback from more than 1 million reviews.

According to OpenTable, a prominent player in restaurant technology, six local restaurants have made it to the list of the top 100 brunch restaurants in Canada for 2023. So, if you’re planning a brunch date, these restaurants could be worth considering.

The six Vancouver Island restaurants to make the national best brunch spot list include:

  • Boom + Batten,  2 Paul Kane Place in Victoria
  • Glo Restaurant + Lounge, 2940 Jutland Road in Victoria
  • The Courtney Room,  619 Courtney Street in Victoria
  • The Dining Room at the Butchart Gardens in Brentwood Bay
  • Vista 18 Restaurant + Lounge,  740 Burdett Avenue
  • Alpina Restaurant at Villa Eyrie Resort on the Malahat

Apart from the island locations, the list includes restaurants from across Canada, covering five provinces. Ontario had the highest representation on the list with 49 restaurants, followed by British Columbia with 29, Alberta with nine, Quebec with eight, and Atlantic Canada with five.

“Our data indicates that Canadians’ appetite for eating out remains strong, with restaurant dining up four per cent year-over-year this April, and we expect that enthusiasm will continue for Mother’s Day dining,” says Matt Davis, Country Director, OpenTable Canada.
