Get ready, Victoria!

While a specific day hasn’t been revealed, Uber is expected to launch their ride-sharing service in Victoria in early June.

This comes after the Passenger Transportation Board (PTB) confirmed popular ride-hailing service, Uber, had finally been approved to operate in Victoria earlier this month.

The PTB approval comes after company purchased a previously approved operating licence from ReRyde.

Uber has attempted to launch its ride-sharing service in Victoria for the past couple years, but after being declined in 2021, the company began looking into acquiring an already approved license.

As Uber prepares to launch its services in Victoria and Kelowna, the company is actively seeking more drivers to meet the growing demand.

In an effort to attract new drivers, Uber has announced a special incentive program, offering an extra $1,000 bonus to those who complete a minimum of 20 trips within the first 14 days of Uber’s launch in either city.

The company currently operates UberEats in Victoria.

The company’s suite of apps, including Uber Driver, is readily available for download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
