Victoria is gearing up to celebrate the second annual Canadian Coast Guard Day happening on Saturday, June 3rd.
This eagerly anticipated event pays tribute to the brave men and women who dedicate their lives to ensuring the safety and security of Canada’s coastal waters.
Hosted by the Canadian Coast Guard, the festivities will take place in the picturesque Victoria harbour, offering visitors a chance to witness firsthand the impressive capabilities of the Coast Guard.
From search and rescue demonstrations to vessel tours, the event promises to be an immersive experience for attendees of all ages.
The day will include the following:
- helicopter, ship and hovercraft tours (closed-toed footwear is required for tours)
- see live rescue demonstrations
- learn more about search and rescue
There will also be plenty of events, games, food trucks and prizes to be won.
The Canadian Coast Guard Day serves as a unique opportunity for the public to gain insight into the critical role the Coast Guard plays in safeguarding Canada’s marine environment and supporting maritime commerce.
