Nine months after the Quadra Street bottle depot was robbed in August 2022, Saanich Police have arrested two brothers for the crime.

40-year-old Jared McClure and 44-year-old Micah McClure were apprehended by police on Wednesday May 17th, and they are both being charged with robbery, possession of stolen property and disguise with intent.

On August 3rd, 2022, police responded to a robbery in progress at the Quadra Street bottle depot in which the suspects were each clad in halloween-style masks.

Police say after the two men entered the business, they assaulted one staff member before grabbing the till which held all the business’s cash.

As the suspects left, an employee attempted to chase them and he was pepper sprayed by one of the thieves.

According to police, witnesses reported the suspects used a grey Honda Civic hatchback, which was left behind at the scene of the crime and seized by police.

The suspects reportedly fled from the bottle depot on foot southbound on Quadra Street and could not be found, even with the assistance of Saanich Police’s Integrated Canine Service.
