Share

Inn at Laurel Point has long been a wedding hot spot on Vancouver Island and now they’ve been recognized for their efforts by the Vancouver Island Wedding Industry Association (VIWIA) Awards.

The hotel that juts out into Victoria’s Inner Harbour from where its situated in James Bay won Best Wedding Hotel Venue. The awards are juried by a panel of judges from across Canada and the US.

The Inn at Laurel Point has three packages which are tailored to weddings of all sizes and they have a number of picturesque backdrops for ceremonies and receptions to take place such as in the garden, by the water or overlooking the city’s harbour.

What helped them win the prestigious Vancouver Island award is their fairy-tale ballroom which is enclosed in glass, leads to an outdoor patio with blooming flowers throughout and reflects a pool and waterfall. This is the inn’s crown jewel that can accommodate 140 person ceremonies, 200 person dinners and receptions of over 200.

A honeymoon suite is included with all three packages and lets the newlyweds stay for two nights and enjoy breakfast in bed and a few other perks.

Laurel Point’s chefs are some of the best in the game who utilize local ingredients to craft menus that will work for all couples and their guests. They’ll even have their in-house pastry chef whip up a cake to suit the couple’s tastes.

“We are delighted to have been named Vancouver Island’s top wedding venue. It’s a testament to our team’s hard work and dedication — and, most importantly, their commitment to supporting couples on the most important day of their lives,” said Eda Koot, general manager of the Inn at Laurel Point.

“Whether eloping or celebrating the occasion with hundreds of guests, lovebirds can rest assured their special day at our hotel will be magical, memorable, and the perfect start to their new life together.”

The awards honour everything from photographers, chefs, venues, florists and more.
