A serious motor vehicle crash in downtown Victoria has closed a busy downtown intersection Thursday afternoon.
VicPD issued a tweet at 12:42 p.m. stating the intersection of Bay and Blanshard Streets is closed following the crash.
According to police, the vehicle was travelling northbound on Blanshard Street before veering across the grass median and collided with a southbound vehicle.
The pickup truck flipped as a result of the crash and a damaged black Toyota Yaris was on the sidewalk outside the Wendy’s restaurant.

Three people were transported to hospital, according to BC Emergency Health Services. Their injuries are unknown as of this publication.
The intersection has since reopened after traffic on both Bay and Blanshard Streets was shut down for several blocks in both directions.
