This interactive map features all of the dog-friendly businesses in Greater Victoria

Picture this, Victoria:

You have a ride-or-die furry adventure buddy and you can’t stand to dampen their spirit by leaving them alone at home — look at those pouty eyes!

Or maybe you have a new puppy that will not hesitate to chew on those marvelous looking shoes of yours if they’re left alone.

Either way, leaving that adorable face at home is heartbreaking and leaving them in a car under the summer heat is not much better.

What do you do? Collapse in puppy-induced panic? Take forever trying to decide how much you should roll your windows down?

You don’t have to do any of that!

Darcie Jennings, local trainer and dog behaviour specialist of CommuniCanine, created an interactive map that features dog-friendly stores and businesses in and around the Greater Victoria area. Since its launch in 2013, it has been evolving and changing with new policies and new businesses — making it quick and easy to check updates!

Using the map, you can scroll through the alphabetical list or search by the type of business, the region, or the business’ name.

On the website, Jennings reminds everyone to be kind and courteous to the businesses that allow dog entry by remembering to clean up after our furry friends and keep them on a leash while inside.

Grab your furry friend and cruise through these pup-ular spots around town—they’re all quite fetching!
