West Shore RCMP have released a photo of a suspicious man near View Royal Elementary.

RCMP initially released a media statement on Thursday seeking the public’s help in identifying the man and followed it up with a photo of the suspect on Friday.

According to police, the man was initially spotted at around 12:30 p.m. on May 17th, sitting without a shirt on a railway track within sight of the school.

A man matching the description from the original sighting was seen again on Wednesday at approximately 2:35 p.m., occupying the same spot.

He was walking northbound on the E&N Trail.

Although there have been no incidents of the man approaching individuals,  police are interested in having a conversation with him.

Described as a Caucasian man in his 20s, approximately six feet tall with a medium build and dark, shoulder-length hair, he was wearing a cowboy hat and dark shorts during the initial sighting.

The Greater Victoria School District has been informed about these sightings. If you have any information, contact the West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264.
