Another weekend in beautiful Victoria and we have a list of things to keep you occupied and fully summer-satisfied.

Choose between a variety of festivals — all special and unique in their own way, an art tour, a family movie with the kidlets, some baseball games, and more!

Here’s a list of 11 things to do in and around Victoria on Saturday, July 29th and Sunday, July 30th:

Eats & Beats Fest

Get ready for a huge beachside party at Royal Beach!

Eats & Beats is known as one of Greater Victoria’s biggest free community events of the summer, providing multitudes of entertainment and treats for thousands of people every year.

Enjoy live music all day, beachside beverages, diverse food truck choices, activities like paddling and a climbing wall, and vendors with an abundance of island treasures!

Family Favourites at Cineplex

Need a day out with the kids without the huge pricetag?

Don’t forget about Cineplex’s $2.99 Family Favourites series!

The final July showing is coming to Cineplex on Saturday morning before their wonderful August lineup begins.

So, you can catch the family-fun adventure captured in Wonder Park — where a young and imaginative girl named June dreams up an amusement park in the woods and makes some new animal friends there!

Lab Yoga Festival

Imagine the relaxing, engaging, and peaceful joys of yoga while taking in the tranquility of a lavender farm!

Lab Yoga Festival invites you to join their first ever all-day yoga event on the grounds of Bilston Creek Lavender Farm in Metchosin on Saturday, July 29th.

On top of professionally lead yoga sessions, there will also be a mix of other entertainment and local businesses on site with a variety of food selections, prizes, and vendors!

Entertainment will include things like henna, live acoustic music, lawn games, nature and waterfall hike/swim, and massage.

Urban Arts Tour

Fancy a walk?

Esquimalt Community Arts Hub (ECAH) began this outdoor art tour when COVID-19 resulted in the cancellation of art shows.

It allowed people to enjoy the extraordinary art all throughout Esquimalt while keeping distance and taking in the fresh air!

Now, the ECAH is launching its fourth art show, and you’re invited!

This year the show has been expanded and welcomes artists who specialize in jewelry, fibre art, and pottery which will be meticulously curated and displayed in creative ways throughout the gardens of Esquimalt.

Indigenous Music Festival

Returning to the city for its 3rd year, the IYAḴT Indigenous Music Festival kicked off at  Hampton Park on Friday, July 28th and will be running through Saturday, July 29th.

All of the available performances are free to attend and there will be food and beverages available for purchase from their selection of food trucks!

Grab your pals and head over for some exceptional live music, art vendors, and delicious food.

Artists to expect include Paint the Town Red, Adrian Cook, Lost Talkers, and their headliner, Nate Harris!

Viking Fest

Live out your Viking fantasies (within reason) with the Vikings in Victoria as they strategize and commence their next charge across the city starting at the Fernwood Inn!

There will be beer and the charge across Victoria will include the harbour and water taxis.

Dress to impress but leave any real weapons at home — only plastic/soft ones are acceptable!

Greater Victoria Green Team Cleanups

The Canadian Green Team is hosting a series of cleanup days around Victoria, and they’re looking for lots of hands!

With a focus on habitat restoration, the team will be removing invasive plants to ensure the survival of native species.

On Saturday, July 29th, join them at Knockan Hill Park in View Royal to assist in the removal of Himalayan blackberry, English ivy, Scotch broom, and bur chervil.

On Sunday, July 29th, the next stop will be Dominion Brook Park in North Saanich with a plan to remove Himalayan blackberry, English ivy, and daphne.

HarbourCats Three-Day Series

After kicking off their three-day series on Friday, July 28th, the Victoria HarbourCats will go on to play two more thrilling games against their playoff-chasing rivals, the Kelowna Falcons.

The weekend promises an array of exciting promotions that are sure to draw crowds and keep the energy high at Wilson’s Group Stadium.

Saturday’s game, starting at 6:35 pm (gates open at 5 p.m.), is the much-awaited fireworks night! The sky will be lit up in a spectacular display of colors after the game.

Sunday’s matinee game at 1 p.m. (gates open at noon) is bringing an unexpected twist to the promotions.

In a surprising and tongue-in-cheek giveaway, fans have the chance to win a free funeral — yes, you read that correctly, a free funeral!

Little Library Ribbon Cutting

The 700th little free library is coming to Victoria on Sunday, July 29th!

These adorable, handmade little libraries are scattered throughout the Greater Victoria area and there are even confirmed locations across the south of Vancouver Island and surrounding islands too!

Installed by Kolby Gasko, a local carpenter, this newest edition of little libraries has been named the “Kiddo Library” and will be dedicated to children’s books.

There will be a small ribbon cutting ceremony and refreshments will be provided.

Hann Made Markets

Everyone loves a good artisanal market!

Hann Made Designs will be hosting Sunday Markets at The Langford Station from July 30th until September 3rd.

You can except an array of entertainment and goodies, including free live music, food trucks, and unique vendors to shop from with plenty of hidden gems.

Enjoy this lively atmosphere with the whole family!

Victoria Sport & Import Import Car Show

Cars and motorcycles are both welcome! This is Sport & Import’s second annual show and there will be a mix of wonderful vehicles as well as added entertainment.
