Soon, you can cruise the ‘Dub on the commute home and fill up your tank while you’re at it!
The old Fas Gas along the Pat Bay Highway at the Sayward Road intersection will soon be replaced with a Chevron gas station, an On the Run convenience store, an A&W and it has space for two more businesses in a detached building.
The plans were first drawn up in 2018 and CTM Design Services applied for the building permit back in August 2022.
Now, the fast food chain and gas station have finally gotten the stamp of approval and construction can be expected to get underway before the year’s end.
CTM Design Services have a vast portfolio of similar projects including a similar combo On the Run and A&W in Calgary.
The convenience store and restaurant will be just over 3,500 square feet while the detached space which can be split into two separate spaces will be just over 2,000 square feet.
The gas area will also be detached from the On the Run as a floating fill-up area within the parking lot.
The parking lot also accounts for 29 total parking stalls, some of which will be designated handicap stalls, and the A&W will feature a drive-thru option for added convenience.
Over the past week, excavators have been on site doing slab demolition work to get the site ready for construction crews to start building.
Here are some photos of what the plans are calling for:
