23-year-old man arrested after double stabbing incident in Parksville

A 23-year-old man, identified as Nicholas Morrison-Dault, has been arrested and formally charged in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred on Monday night in Parksville.

According to the Oceanside RCMP, the incident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. on August 28th, in the 300 block of Island Highway.

Police said they received an emergency call reporting a stabbing at the location.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found that both a man and a woman had sustained stab wounds. Morrison-Dault who remained on scene was promptly taken into custody.

All three individuals involved, including the two victims and the suspect, were transported to hospital.

The victims, as well as the suspect, are reported to be local individuals without stable housing. Following medical attention, all three individuals were discharged from hospital.

Morrison-Dault is facing a charge of aggravated assault. He has been placed in custody pending further legal proceedings.

“The investigation is ongoing,” said Sergeant Shane Worth of the Oceanside RCMP.
