Anchors, away!
If you’re looking for a jam-packed day full of music, food, drag performances, bouncy castles and all-around fun—look no further.
On August 27th, CFB Esquimalt is organizing its first-ever Anchors Away Arts & Music Festival at Starlight Stadium in Langford, and you’re invited!
The all-encompassing, all-ages event is a way for the base to connect with the community where many military members reside.
Tickets for Anchors Away are on sale now, with a special discount for military members—you can grab yours online.
Plus, we’re giving away two family passes to two lucky winners! You’ll find those contest details below.
This event will run all day from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m., but gates open at noon—make sure you come early to get a good spot!
For the young and young at heart, there will be a bouncy castle, interactive games, an arts and crafts area, Balloon Twister, face painting, and Mister Mojo and his Magic Band performing.
When it comes to curbing your appetite, there will be no shortage of delicioys fppd trucks on-site, including L’Authentic Poutine and Burgers, Kattia’s Kitchen and Candytime—plus there will also be a licensed beer garden!

- The Queens! Canada’s Drag Race finalist Kendall Gender and Vivian Vanderpuss, Canada’s Drag Race Miss Congeniality winner perform with friends
- Passion and Performance Arts Inc.
- Mister Mojo and his Magic Band
- The Naden Band
- The New Groovement
- The Fabulous B Sides
There will also be free shuttle buses available between Starlight Stadium and Naden, Work Point, and Colwood Pacific Activity Centre (CPAC) departing at 12:15 p.m. on August 27th (Kingsmill – Dockyard Main Gate – Naden Building 50 parking lot – Colwood Pacific Activity Centre – Starlight Stadium) and back to these areas from the stadium starting at 1:15 p.m. The last bus departs from Starlight Stadium at 9:30 p.m. Government issued ID mandatory to access busses.
Additionally, free bike valets will also be available.
