VicPD tweeted that a section of Fort Street would be closed indefinitely as they respond to an ongoing situation.
At around 2:15 p.m. police closed off the 700-block of Fort Street to both vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian traffic.
VicPD says they established the closure because a person who is situated on a roof overlooking Fort Street was lighting items on fire.
Firefighters are on the scene along with police and paramedics.
