Suspect who stabbed Langford security guard remains at large

A late-night stabbing incident has left a security guard injured in Langford, and the suspect responsible for the attack remains at large.

The incident occurred just before midnight on Monday, August 7th, in the alleyway behind Ali-Baba’s Pizza and Serious Coffee at the Millstream Village Shopping Centre on Millstream Road.

West Shore RCMP were alerted to the incident at approximately 11:58 p.m. and swiftly responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, officers and Police Dog Services discovered a male victim, identified as a security guard who was on duty in the area, suffering from a stab wound.

The victim’s injuries were assessed to be non-life-threatening, and he was subsequently transported to hospital for medical treatment.

It was determined security guard’s injuries were sustained after a brief interaction with the suspect, who is now at large.

Police were not able to locate a suspect or any witnesses.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man standing about and 5’11” with brown hair. He was wearing a black-and-blue hoodie and carrying a black backpack.

Police believe the incident was isolated and said there appears to be no risk posed to the public.
