VicPD have temporary closed a section of Pandora Avenue due to an ongoing police incident in the 1000 block.

While police have assured the public that there is no immediate threat to safety, officers remain on the scene to address the situation.

The impacted area is specifically the eastbound lanes between Vancouver and Cook streets.

This particular stretch of Pandora Avenue is distinct from the main westbound travel lanes, which remain open and unaffected. Furthermore, the median area where the grassy space is has been cordoned off.

VicPD issued a tweet at 5:32 a.m. Thursday morning warning of the investigation happening in the area.

Police are remaining tight-lipped about the details of the ongoing investigation, as stated by their spokesperson, who said, “I can confirm that there is an ongoing investigation in the 1000-block of Pandora (officers are still on scene). I can’t provide any other details at this time, unfortunately, other than road closures.”

In the meantime, commuters and residents in the area are encouraged to use alternative routes and plan their travel accordingly to avoid any inconveniences caused by the road closure.

Police have not provided an estimated time for the reopening of the affected section of Pandora Avenue.
