Another Vancouver Island resident is celebrating a massive lottery win, this time in the Comox Valley.

A lucky ticket sold in Courtenay matched all four Extra numbers drawn for the October 28th Lotto 6/49 and BC 6/49, bringing its holder a life-changing prize of $500,000.

The winning numbers that transformed an ordinary ticket into a golden one were 37, 53, 85, and 96.

This win only adds to the fortunate streak experienced by Comox Valley retailers when it comes to selling winning lottery tickets. Courtenay, in particular, has emerged as a hotbed for lottery luck in recent times.

Just a few months ago, in the June 17th Lotto 6/49 draw, a Courtenay resident won a staggering $1 million.  This massive prize only seemed to be the start of a winning trend for Courtenay, as on August 2nd, another Lotto 6/49 draw produced yet another million-dollar winner from this thriving Vancouver Island town.

The main jackpots for both the October 28th Lotto 6/49 and BC 6/49 were not won and will be carried over to the next draw date.
