Nanaimo RCMP are asking for the public’s help in locating the driver and their red truck that were involved in a McDonald’s parking lot hit-and-run that occurred in August.

At around 8:45 p.m. on August 20th, police were called to 1213 Princess Royal Avenue where the hit and run took place.

Police say the suspect vehicle, a red truck with a black canopy, backed up into a grey Honda Civic with such ferocity that its back end lifted up off the ground.

The Civic was left with a large dent and scrape on its back fender.

Police believe the red truck would have also sustained significant damages.

“To date, investigators have no leads, and are hoping the public may be able to assist in identifying the suspect vehicle and the driver,” said R/Cst Gary O’Brien of the Nanaimo RCMP.

Anyone who has information on this incident should contact Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345.
