A bucket list item for wine connoisseurs!

Who knew being ‘wined and dined’ could be this glamorous?

The world-renowned Fairmont Empress located in downtown Victoria’s Inner Harbour will be opening its wine cellar to guests for the first time on Saturday, November 18th.

The hotel is debuting ‘A Royal Vinous Affair,’ an exclusive one-night-only event promising incredible cuisine and expertly paired prestigious vintages from celebrated wine regions around the globe.

Led under the guidance of the hotel’s resident wine expert, Certified Sommelier Maeve Fogarty and Chef de Cuisine Tyler Paquette, the exclusive cellar collection dinner is sure to leave visitors feeling pampered and dazzled.

Their vintages will include Dom Perignon 2004, Chateau d’Yquem 1997, Chateau Latour le Grand Vin 1996, Chateau Palmer 1983, Heitz Cellars Martha’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2005, and Gaja Barbaresco 1999.

Fogarty will be delving deep into the history of each wine—ensuring each guest feels connected to each bottle’s rich history and continuing story.

To complement their exquisite lineup of vintages, each pour will be accompanied by a carefully crafted seven-course dinner, designed to complement the flavour profiles and nuances of each wine.

The menu will include delicacies such as lobster, caviar, Hokkaido scallops, and A5 Wagyu.

To further enhance this intimate dining experience, the dinner will be set in the hotel’s iconic Lobby Lounge, which opened in 1908.

Naturally, luxury and exclusivity like this comes at a price—each ticket will cost $1,200 per person and can be purchased here. And with only 22 available seats, you’ll want to hop on those tickets fast!

Ticket holders who wish to stay at the hotel can call (250) 384-8111 for a special event rate.
