Spreading holiday cheer: Saanich launches holiday card design contest for kids

Share

Choose your happiest colours and let it snow!

Saanich Mayor Dean Murdock has announced a contest for the best holiday card design, and he’s looking for festive inspiration from the kids.

The holiday card design contest is open for Saanich elementary school students from kindergarten to grade 5, and will accept submissions until Tuesday, November 21st!

“Saanich is home to many talented young artists, and I’m Ho-Ho-Hoping they can provide me with their best designs that showcase their favourite part of the holidays,” said Murdock.

“I am snow excited to see what everyone comes up with, and announcing the talented winner will no doubt be Claus for celebration!”

All you need to do is download the colouring sheet, and submit your lovely design to  media@saanich.ca before the deadline with a name and grade included with the email.

Murdock encourages parents and educators to help the children scan their design in the largest possible size—around a resolution of 300 pixels per inch or higher.

This year’s holiday card will feature the winner’s drawing, as well as their name and grade. The winning design will also be featured in a holiday social media post for the District of Saanich.

The winner will be contacted via email and the winner will receive a special prize and a signed holiday card from the Mayor!

Sharpen your pencils and get to it!
