Love the beauty of a good Christmas melody?

The Victoria Conservatory of Music (VCM), is bringing a special holiday celebration to Victoria’s Royal Theatre!

On Wednesday, December 20th and Thursday, December 21st, the VCM is celebrating its 20th annual Daniel Lapp’s Home for Christmas show, and you’re invited.

Lapp is a renowned music artist, teacher and local impresario and brings the holiday spirit to life with the help of his legendary ensembles such as the B.C. Fiddle Orchestra, Folkestra!, and the Joy of Life Choir.

Also accompanying Lapp on stage includes his local professional colleagues and friends appearing as the Shiny H’ornaments, Strings of Lights and Swing’n Shepherds house band!

“I promise that this year’s concert will pull from and build on some of the most memorable moments of the past 20 years,” Lapp said.

“This will include a Tina Turner tribute, a Texas fiddle infused ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’, the Great Christmas Ukulele Singalong, a full Louisiana jazz/Cajun treatment of ‘Go Tell It on the Mountain’ along with various other seasonal vignettes that will bring smiles to folks of all ages and backgrounds.”

This year’s special guest is iconic Canadian performer Valdy, whose discography includes 16 albums, 22 singles, four Gold Records and nearly half a million units sold worldwide.

He has toured for 46 years, is the recipient of two Juno awards, seven Juno nominations (Country Male Vocalist & Folksinger) and in 2011, was appointed a member of the Order Of Canada.

“This season we celebrate peace and give thanks for our many blessings as we sing, dance and play!”

Tickets start at $23.50 and are $18.50 for youth and students—you can purchase tickets for the December 20th show or the December 21st show here.
