Happy New Year, Victoria!

Plenty of brave souls took to the icy pacific waters on Monday, January 1st as a way to ring in the New Year and start fresh.

This tradition has become quite the community staple and drew in big crowds (both swimmers and spectators) in a collective cheer for 2024!

Plenty of photographs were taken and shared, especially from the Polar Bear Swim hosted by the Peninsula Celebrations Society.

Glass Beach in Sidney was packed full of ready swimmers and a buzzing energy of anticipation and excitement—there’s nothing more thrilling than an icy dip!

There was even a few booths set up to highlight the energetic nature of the scene, as well as a nearby coast guard to ensure everyone’s dip remained safe.
