Buckle up, history buffs and adventure seekers!

The Royal BC Museum is flinging wide its doors once again from January 2nd to 4th for an extraordinary treat—the much-awaited Community Days!

It’s the ultimate chance to explore, learn, and get lost in the captivating realms of history and discovery.

Immerse yourself in the last days of two incredible exhibitions making their grand finale.

Witness the farewell performances of “Angkor: The Lost Empire of Cambodia,” a treasure trove boasting 120 mesmerizing artifacts from ancient Angkor. Uncover the resilience of Khmer culture while diving deep into the scientific revelations about this awe-inspiring ancient empire. But hurry!

This exhibit takes its final bow on January 14th.

And if that’s not enough to fuel your historical curiosity, head up to the third floor to meet none other than SUE, the most complete and best-preserved Tyrannosaurus rex ever unearthed! Embark on a time-traveling journey through South Dakota, exploring one of the most extensively documented ecosystems from the age of dinosaurs.

But don’t dawdle – SUE bids adieu to the public on January 7th.

But wait, there’s more!

Prepare to be awestruck at IMAX Victoria, where captivating screenings of “Angkor: The Lost Empire of Cambodia” and “Dinosaurs of Antarctica” await your eager eyes.

It’s an immersive experience you won’t want to miss during Community Days!

Feeling nostalgic for the lost art of letter writing?

The museum’s got you covered during the January 2nd through 6th celebration of Letter Writing Week! Swing by the third-floor mezzanine between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to rekindle the romance of putting pen to paper.

They provide the stationery, pens, envelopes, and even the stamps – all you need is your creativity!

Remember, your generosity during Community Days isn’t just a ticket to these awe-inspiring experiences; it’s a vital contribution to the museum’s diverse operations.

Your donations help power online learning programs, aid in specimen collection from BC’s stunning natural landscapes, preserve historical photographs, and so much more.

Mark your calendars, rally your friends and family, and join us at the Royal BC Museum for a weekend of discovery, wonder, and a whole lot of historical fun!
