We hope you got the chance to check out this year’s stunning gingerbread creations!

The overall attendance, funds raised, and community collaboration exceeded all expectations, and the organizers are thrilled to salute the winners.

From November 25th to January 4th, Habitat for Humanity Victoria held its 15th annual Gingerbread Showcase at Hotel Grand Pacific, which was a new location for the event—attracting impressive crowds, all eager to gaze upon the outstanding creativity of Victoria’s bakers.

Showcase visitors were treated to a gallery of creative interpretations centered around the theme: Family Traditions, resulting in a wide variety of perspectives on tradition, values, and holiday spirit.

Visitors cast an enthusiastic total of 14,360 votes for their favorite creations, and the numbers are in—with Jessica Hoehne scoring the highly coveted People’s Choice Award with her entry, Games Night.

Additionally, this year’s Gingerbread Showcase event raised a record-setting amount of $106,791.15!

“This sum is a testament to our community’s unwavering commitment to building strength, stability, and independence through affordable homeownership,” said a media release.

“Habitat Victoria feels like the biggest winner,” added Scott Dutchak, Chief Executive Officer.

“We can’t thank our bakers, donors and volunteers enough for a success on this scale. The Gingerbread Showcase is our most important fundraiser of the year, and simply wouldn’t happen without them.”

A panel of seasoned judges also weighed in, presenting congratulations and prize ribbons to bakers in the following categories:

  • Best first impression – Games Night by Jessica Hoehne
  • Best use of skill and technique – From Old to New by Sarah Rachel Hoffman
  • Best interpretation of the theme – Family Game Night by Mel Heibert and Sheena Wells
