If you’re starting to make plans for Family Day long weekend, you may want to consider adding Sidney Museum to your list of must-visits!

The Sidney Museum announced it is bringing back another year of Family Day long weekend fun with a lineup of LEGO-themed activities designed for families and children of every age to coincide with their 18th annual LEGO exhibit.

From February 17th to 19th between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., visit the Sidney Museum and immerse yourselves in the wonderous and imaginative world of LEGO and pick up your LEGO Beacon Avenue Scavenger Hunt.

The scavenger hunt map will feature a list of different businesses and organizations all over town that have set up their own LEGO sets on display in their windows and storefronts.

If you find them all, you can enter into a draw to win incredible LEGO prizes!

“With our popular LEGO Brick Exhibition returning for its 18th consecutive year, we are very excited to continue what has become a community tradition,” said Michael Goodchild, the Executive Director of the Sidney Museum.

“LEGO has a remarkable ability to appeal to nearly any age and interest, from real-world architecture to references to beloved movies and TV shows.”

Also included in this special weekend is the return of Canada’s first LEGO Certified Professional, Robin Sather!

Sather will be at the museum throughout the weekend building a 6 foot LEGO model of local landmarks, Sidney’s Pier and the Fish Market.

Watch a master work and make sure you say hello!

Also returning to the Sidney Museum is the fan-favorite Peninsula Co-op’s Community Mosaic—you can contribute a piece to this work of art, which will eventually be showcased at a local Peninsula Co-op location!

After you’ve taken in the sights and activities at the Sidney Museum, stroll on down to the Sidney Pier Hotel & Spa’s Sallas Room where the Victoria LEGO Users Group will be set up with a variety of dioramas, from fairground attractions to modular cities.

“Working on the exhibit and Family Day activities is a real treat and our team is looking forward to sharing in everyone’s excitement!” added Goodchild.

The LEGO Brick Exhibit kicked off on January 2nd will be running until April 1st.

Entrance to the museum is by donation.
