5 things to do in and around Victoria this Tuesday, April 2nd

Happy Tuesday, Victoria!

Have you recovered from the long weekend yet are are you still in an Easter chocolate coma?

If you’re looking for a bit of a pick-me-up, energize yourself at the first home playoff game with our very own Victoria Royals vs. Portland Winterhawks!

It’s one of two back-to-back games and is bound to be an exciting one!

Coleman Hell will be taking over the stage at Wicket Hall, there’s a craft beer and art tour happening and much more.

Without further ado, here’s 5 things to do in and around Victoria on Tuesday, April 2nd:

Playoffs: Victoria Royals vs. Portland Winterhawks

The stakes are high, and so is the excitement! You read that right, Victoria— the Victoria Royals are back in the home barn for a round of playoff games against the Portland Winterhawks. Games 3 and 4 will be on home ice, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Gather your hockey buddies and cheer on our team with fellow fans, comfort arena foods and your choice of refreshing beverage!

Tickets start at around $16 and can be purchased here.

  • When: Tuesday, April 2nd at 7:05 p.m.

Street Art & Craft Beer Tour of Victoria

Get to know Victoria by embarking on a tour that combines art, beer and other treasured delights!

On the tour, attendees will sample beer, learn about the brewing process and also explore a number of street art pieces that line the streets between breweries.

Make new friends and drink some fantastic craft beer!

Tickets are around $130 per person, and you can choose between the 2 p.m. or the 6 p.m. start time.

  • Where: Meeting point is at Vancouver Island Brewing, 2330 Government Street
  • When: Tuesday, April 2nd from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Coleman Hell at Wicket Hall

Dance and sing your heart out at Wicket Hall this Tuesday night!

Coleman Hell has been described as a genre-defying monster and has gained widespread attention—accumulating over 150 million streams on Spotify, nominations for Juno Awards and more.

Joining him on stage will be special guest Wet Future.

Tickets are $25 if purchased online and $30 in person.

Go Cherry Blossom Gazing

As the weather continues to warm up, Victoria’s beloved collection of cherry blossom and plum blossom trees are reaching their full peak.

Already we’ve seen some early washes of floral colour from our early bloomers and the vibrancy will only continue to grow as we dive deeper into spring.

If you’re looking to find your own special spot, the City of Victoria features an interactive map that lists all of the trees and their blossom dates.

For now, we’ve chosen some of our favourite spots around town to see the blooms.
