Sidney/North Saanich RCMP are asking for the public’s help in locating two men who went missing while kayaking between Island View Beach and D’Arcy Island on Saturday April 20th.
The missing individuals have been identified as 36 year-old Daniel MacAlpine, and 26-year-old Nicolas West.
Both men were last seen kayaking in a teal blue fibreglass, two-person tandem kayak around 2:15 p.m. on the day they went missing.
MacAlpine is described as a Caucasian man, approximately 5’, 10” tall, and weighing around 150 pounds. West is also Caucasian and stands around 6’, 5” tall, weighing approximately 170 pounds.
Search efforts are being conducted by RCMP, Central Saanich Police Department, PEMO Search and Rescue, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre, and the Canadian Coast Guard.
The search for the missing men is ongoing.
