35-year-old arrested following drug raid at two West Shore homes

One man was arrested last week following a drug raid in Colwood and Langford.

In a media release, Saanich Police said their crime unit, with support from the West Shore RCMP, the Island District Emergency Response Team, and the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team, executed search warrants at two residences on April 25th.

The locations were in the 800 block of Drummond Way in Colwood and the 2300 block of Millstream Road in Langford.

Photos from the raid show a large police presence in the area, which included the armoured vehicle and heavily armed officers.

The operation resulted in the seizure of a substantial quantity of illegal drugs, including 1.2 kilograms of fentanyl, 0.5 kilograms of cocaine, 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine, as well as large quantities of GHB and steroids.

The estimated street value of the seized drugs is over $200,000.

Additionally, police seized $55,000 in Canadian currency and a loaded 9-millimetre firearm, described as a “ghost gun.”

A 35-year-old man was arrested in connection with the operation and later released pending charges.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
