The apocalypse has officially reached Vancouver Island!

In late April, production preparations for The Last of Us began in the streets of downtown Nanaimo, bringing the zombie-ridden world close to home.

Streets have been blocked and the dramatic transformation is in place, with teams having brought in heaps of foliage, relic and rusted vehicles and military equipment.

A business in Nanaimo, NYLA Fresh Thread on Commercial Street, has shared a sneak peek at the incredible work they have done to bring us post-outbreak America.

This season will follow Joel (played by Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (played once again by Bella Ramsey) in the aftermath of the first season.

It will also introduce a new main character, Abby (played by Kaitlyn Dever) who plays a soldier of the Washington Liberation Front and seeks to avenge her father’s death.

The expected release date of the second season of The Last of Us is slated for sometime in 2025.

NYLA has shared that they remain open seven days a week, so you can come say hello and check out the deadened streets yourself!
