An online fundraiser was launched on May 31st following a serious bike crash in which a beloved father, husband and friend was severely injured.
Marcel Evans’ life may forever be changed following the incident in which he fell off his bike and struck his head on a street curb.
Evans’ wife, his 4-year-old daughter, sister, aunt and father have all been supporting him as best as they can through his healing journey, but need assistance to take away some of the financial burdens of a traumatic event such as this.
“In the face of this unexpected and challenging situation, I am reaching out to you for your love, support, and generosity,” wrote family friend Chelsie Longacre, organizer of the GoFundMe.
“If you are able to offer financial assistance, any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference and provide much-needed relief to Katt and Charlotte, allowing them to focus entirely on Marcel’s journey toward healing.”
Longacre says that all donations will go towards essential expenses such as groceries, child care, gas for hospital visits along with any other unforeseen costs that arise.
“Marcel is not just a beloved husband and father; he’s a cherished friend known for his kindness and warmth,” she added.
“Let’s come together to show our support and help ease the burden for this loving family during their time of need.”
Just over one month since Evans’ accident, he still remains in hospital.
As of this publication, the GoFundMe campaign has garnered just over $21,300 of its $65,000 goal.
Donations to Evans’ recovery can be made online here.
