Sooke’s Whiffin Spit trail will be for maintenance on Monday


Just a heads up outdoor enthusiasts.

Sooke’s Whiffin Spit Park will undergo temporary closure on Monday as scheduled maintenance is set to commence.

Beginning at 7 a.m. and continuing until 4 p.m., the trail will be closed to the public to facilitate essential maintenance operations involving heavy equipment.

According to the District of Sooke, the maintenance work aims to improve the overall quality and safety of the trail for all visitors.

“We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this closure and kindly request the public’s understanding and cooperation during this time,” the district stated in an official announcement.

Normal trail access will resume at 4 p.m. once the maintenance activities are concluded.

The District of Sooke encourages residents and visitors to plan their outdoor activities accordingly to accommodate the temporary closure.
