VicPD were called to the scene of a shooting late on Sunday evening in which two people suffered gunshot wounds.

Police say that on June 16th, just before 10:30 p.m., VicPD received the report of multiple shots being fired outside home in the 1100-block of Lyall Street.

There, two individuals were shot and taken to hospital to be treated for their wounds, according to police.

One of these people is being treated for life-threatening injuries, while the other victim only sustained injuries deemed to be non-life threatening.

VicPD say that investigators with their Major Crimes Unit and Forensic Identification Services Unit are currently investigating the incident.

They added that no arrests have been made at this time.

Police believe the shooting was targeted; however, they say officers are completing an ongoing risk assessment for public safety.

Updates will be provided to the public if it is determined that public safety may be compromised.

Because the file is still under investigation, further details are not available, according to police.

Anyone with information about this incident should contact VicPD at (250) 995-7654.
