A Vancouver Island distillery has launched a new product, and it couldn’t have come at a better time.
Each summer, firefighters battle hundreds of wildfires across British Columbia, and this year is no different.
There are currently over 400 active wildfires in the province, including one out-of-control fire in Sooke that has grown to over 169 hectares in size.
Best Coast Distillers, located on the Saanich Peninsula, has introduced a new product called WildFire Whisky and a portion of sales will go to organizations such as the Victoria Firefighters Charitable Foundation.
“WildFire Whisky isn’t just a beverage; it’s a tribute to resilience and the power of community. This youthful whisky bursts with the fiery zest of Mexican cinnamon and the velvety sweetness of Madagascar vanilla,” reads the description of the product on the website.

In the company’s own words, each sip sends you on a journey through a forest of flavours, where every note narrates a tale of fortitude and solidarity.
Best Coast Distillers states that a portion of the sales will be donated to charities supporting firefighters battling wildfires in Western Canada.
“With every bottle, you’re not just lifting spirits; you’re actively making a difference in the lives of those who courageously protect their communities.”
The 750 ml bottle is priced at $45 and contains 35% alcohol. It can be purchased online or in person at various retail locations on the island.
