Woohoo, another Friday, Victoria!

Gear up, Victoria, it’s a big day full of exciting performances, outdoor movies, community gatherings and more.

Plus, don’t miss out on Reverb’s kickoff—the final weekend in Phillips’ iconic Backyard Music Festival 2024 series.

Phillips’ ‘Reverb’ Music Festival

Welcome to the Phillips Backyard Music Festival finale weekend, ‘Reverb’—running from Friday, August 9th to Sunday, August 11th!

Reverb will see the Black Pumas headline on Friday, August 9th. After having gone on a lengthy hiatus, the Black Pumas are back at it and attendees can expect a show like they’ve never seen before.

Also on Friday are Victoria mainstays, Current Swell, playing in town for the first time since they performed at the Dylan Willows fundraiser at Royal Theatre in March.

Tickets can be purchased as weekend passes or day passes, and are available for purchase online.

Free-B Film Festival

This community-favourite film festival will once again bring a huge lineup of free outdoor movies to Beacon Hill Park!

The Free-B Film Festival features a mix of classics and cult classics—all you have to do is bring a blanket and some snacks.

As mentioned, there is no cost to enjoy the movie, admission is free.  Just make sure you pack out what you bring!

Friday’s show will feature Godzilla vs. Space Godzilla at 9 p.m.

Canada Dry Victoria Dragon Boat Festival

Fairway Market presents another year of Canada Dry Victoria Dragon Boat Festival!

Enjoy iconic dragon boat races in the Inner Harbour, exciting music and cultural shows on the Main and Patio Stages, marketplace vendors and bars, Chinatown booths, and more in the heart of Victoria.

Taking place from Friday, August 9th and Saturday, August 10th, there’ll be plenty of time to catch something you enjoy!

Friday’s activities are land-based only, and there will be opening remarks and an outdoor showing of Kung Fu Panda at the main stage.

Dinner & Drag

Friends of Dorothy is thrilled to present another Dinner & Drag happening this Friday!

It features a delicious three-course meal and fabulous local drag performers, hosted by the fabulous Queen Mina Mercury, for the ultimate dining experience.

Fridays at the Station

The Victoria Beer Society is once again hosting their popular Fridays at the Station event in Langford!

Ring in the weekend at The Langford Station by enjoying live music, a selection of delicious food trucks, browsing local businesses and artist studios, and of course flights of delicious BC craft beer.

The Victoria Beer Society’s Beer Truck will be on site serving cold sleeves and flights of craft beer every Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

This week will feature the band Skyla J & Oz!
