Cider lovers, mark your calendars!

The 6th annual Cider Harvest Festival at Merridale Cidery & Distillery is just around the corner, promising a day filled with the finest craft ciders that British Columbia has to offer.

Set in the idyllic surroundings of Merridale’s farm and orchard, this event is more than just a tasting experience—it’s a celebration of the province’s rich cider culture.

On Sunday, September 22nd, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., cider enthusiasts and curious newcomers alike will gather at Merridale to sample a diverse array of craft ciders.

Each cider featured at the festival is crafted by members of the BC Farm Crafted Cider Association (BCFCCA), ensuring that every sip reflects the highest standards of small-batch, farm-based production.

This is a rare opportunity to explore the unique flavours born from BC’s fertile land, and to discover ciders you won’t find anywhere else.

“We are celebrating land-based BC cideries, only. These are small batch cidery owners, creating unique blends that attendees won’t find elsewhere. All of the cideries we’ve invited are farmers AND producers,” said Janet Docherty, owner of Merridale.

The festival is designed to be a relaxing, worry-free experience.  With shuttle transportation available from Victoria, Langford, Duncan, and Nanaimo, attendees can enjoy the festivities without the stress of driving.

In addition to the cider tasting, the event will feature live music, a pop-up liquor store, and delicious hand-held treats to complement the ciders.

If you’re considering attending, now is the perfect time to grab your tickets.

Early Bird pricing of $45 per person is available until the end of August. Starting September 1st, the ticket price will increase to $55, so don’t wait too long!

Merridale prides themselves on being a sustainable farm destination that celebrates the world-class cider apples grown right on their very own property.

For over 30 years, Merridale has been crafting cider, and was actually the first to obtain a Craft Cider license in BC, pioneering the movement—they’re thrilled to see that movement grow and evolve, along with all of the others who have joined it.

As excitement for the Cider Harvest Festival builds, Victoria Buzz is thrilled to announce that we’re giving away two tickets to this must-attend event—details below!
