A flagship athletic store in downtown’s Lower Johnson shopping district has officially relocated!

As of July 31st, lululemon has moved to the newly developed Customs House on Government Street at Humboldt, boasting approximately 6,500 square feet of space.

The store features a wider selection of both women’s and men’s clothing, as well as an extensive shoe wall for all of your athletic needs.

Not only does this space offer an impressive collection of apparel, they also commissioned artist Luke Ramsey, who has further beautified the space with a vibrant, ocean-focused mural.

“This landscape explores containers and protection, openness and vulnerability. A connection to local beloved areas like Botanical Beach,” Ramsey said in a social media post.

He wished to capture the movement of tides, which is ever shifting in and out with no stagnation.

Chip Wilson was the original creator of the lululemon brand, setting up shop across the Georgia Strait in Vancouver in 1998. He sold part of his ownership for $845 million in 2014.

The Customs House was originally built in 1898 as a post office. It was later transformed into residences and retail space.
