Autumn is officially upon us, but have no fear, the excitement and volume of available activities hasn’t slowed.

Check out a chef and craft beer-focused event, attend launch weekend for Vancouver Island’s largest literary festival, attend a play or support your local WHL team!

Victoria Festival of Authors Launch Weekend

If you hope to get in on the action ahead of the Victoria Festival of Author start date, a launch weekend will be hosted on Saturday, September 21st and Sunday, September 22nd.

Launch weekend is new to the festival this year, and will feature four workshops with four of BC’s most celebrated authors, and a reading that includes them all.

The workshops offer sliding scale pricing, so attendees will have the ability to select a price that reflects financial comfortability. 

Further, if the discount tickets still present financial hardship, contact them to discuss an alternative.

Small Gods Brewing: Oktoberfest

If you’re up for a little drive out of Victoria, Sidney’s Small Gods Brewing is hosting a Oktoberfest weekend!

It kicked off on Friday, September 20th and runs until Sunday, September 22nd, and will feature delicious German-inspired treats, and an incredible beer list featuring guest taps from some of the best breweries in the province being served in limited edition 500mL steins.

Victoria Anarchist Bookfair

Political activists, changemakers, justice fighters and everything in between, this is for you!

The Victoria Anarchist Bookfair will be held at the Fernwood Community Centre on both Saturday and Sunday of this weekend.

Attendees will find an assortment of goodies, including books, posters, and other items related to all things ‘anarchy’.

Langford Station Food Truck and Music Festival

The City of Langford is excited to invite everyone back to the Langford Station for their third annual Food Truck and Music Festival!

It kicked off this Friday, September 20th and runs until Saturday, September 21st. In addition to the Langford Station stages, the festival has expanded this year to include Veterans Memorial park on Saturday!

This event will include a variety of food trucks and vendors, along with games and activities to entertain all age groups.

Theatre Production at UVic

Visit the University of Victoria’s Phoenix Theatre and witness their production of Eyes of the Beast: Climate Disaster Survivor Stories.

This relevant and powerful story is adapted from the award-wining journalism of the Climate Disaster Project, and follows ordinary people surviving extraordinary times.

Their first show kicked off on Monday, September 16th and will play until Saturday, September 21st.

Whistle Buoy Big Patio Days: Oktoberfest

Rather than one big ‘Whistlemania’ birthday bash, they’ve expanded the celebration and the fun by giving attendees six smaller events over the course of the summer and into the fall!

This Saturday marks the last of these events, themed ‘Oktoberfest,’ featuring a performance from Victoria Edelweiss Dancers.

Admission is only $5 and includes an afternoon of great beer, fantastic entertainment, games, food and other wonderful additions!

Victoria Royals vrs. Tri-City Americans – Country Night!

Get ready for Game #2 and the second back-to-back match against the Tri-City Americans!

Last Daze of Summer Rooftop party at Canadian Brewhouse

Salute to the end of summer in style at Canadian Brewhouse’s rooftop celebration!

This sun-soaked Afropiano extravaganza will feature a full night of food and games with live DJ music from Victoria’s DJ Lala and DJ Isis from Edmonton.

There will also be signature cocktails available! Dress in your best summer attire and come to dance the night away!

Plant Swap

Stop by the VI Plant Shop and swap your indoor plants for free with fellow plant lovers!

Recovery Day Victoria

Our Place Society is welcoming everyone for a family-friendly event, celebrating the wonderful work being done in addiction recover by Umbrella Society and Our Place’s New Roads community.

It will take place at Central Park on Quadra Street and will feature local music guests, comedians, food trucks and a Family Fun Zone.

Some of the performers include Nautical Disaster, Ange Hehr Music, The Coast, OAKES, Covers In A Dangerous Time, and local comedian Steev Letts.

This event is free to attend.
