Nanaimo RCMP are seeking the public’s help in locating a cast iron dragon sculpture that was stolen from a resident’s home.
It would have been difficult to steal, as it weighs around 180-pounds and is 27-inches from tip to tail.
Police say it was stolen off the front porch of the home it was taken from.
The dragon was reportedly purchased around 46-years-ago, and it was reported missing on the morning of Tuesday, September 3rd.
Police say the owner of this dragon told officers that the dragon is of significant sentimental value as it was the first large purchase her and her now deceased husband made as a young couple.
According to the owner, there is only one other dragon like it in all of Canada.
Investigators have reportedly been canvassing nearby residents looking for witnesses or CCTV footage.
To date, police have been unsuccessful in this endeavour.
Anyone who has information on the whereabouts of the dragon should call Nanaimo RCMP at (250) 754-2345.
