With fall just around the corner, it’s time to celebrate the season’s arrival in Victoria with an enchanting evening of lanterns, cultural performances, and community spirit at the Autumn Lantern Festival.
The event will run from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 14th at the Gordon Head Recreation Centre and Lambrick Park, featuring a range of family-friendly activities and seasonal entertainment.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own LED-lit lanterns or create one at the event for just $5 per person.
The lantern-making workshop, held at the Gordon Head Recreation Centre, will offer supplies on a first-come, first-served basis, so early arrival is recommended.
The festival boasts an impressive line-up of local performers, showcasing diverse cultural talents.
From traditional dance to modern beats, there will be something for everyone. The evening will conclude with a performance by the crowd-favourite Wong Sheung Kung Fu Lion Dancers.

A variety of food trucks will be on-site to satisfy hunger cravings, including Mamma Rosie’s Food Truck, Sizzling Tandoor, Greek on the Street, Judy’s Snack Shack, and Softies ice cream.
Parking at the Gordon Head Recreation Centre is limited, so attendees are encouraged to use alternative transportation.
Biking to the event offers prime parking with Capital Bike’s “The Locker” bike valet service. The event is also accessible via Victoria Transit #27 and #28, which stop near Feltham at Lambrick Way.
