As the weather gets colder and Halloween draws nearer, the beers take on some unique seasonal flavouring!
Luckily, we live in a city full of unbelievable breweries that put their best foot forward when it comes to pushing limits and offering something exciting and delicious.
Whether it’s pumpkin-flavoured, a hearty stout, or Oktoberfest beer, there’s something for everyone to try!
To help you on your beer-tasting journey, we’ve put together a list of autumn-inspired beers that some of our iconic brewers have released:
Phillips Brewing: Crooked Tooth
Back from the pumpkin patch, Phillips Brewing has released their fan favourite Crooked Tooth beer!
A Nitro Pumpkin Ale that’s gently spiced and hits like a fresh slice of pumpkin pie. The added nitrogen gives it an extra smooth finish.
Phillips says to pair this boo-sy treat with your favourite horror movie and some Halloween candy!

Whistle Buoy Brewing: Smoochie and Stout
Pumpkin Cheesecake Smoochie
Whistle Buoy Brewing has dropped their second pumpkin beer and it’s one you’ll be itching to try!
The Pumpkin Cheesecake Smoochie, an 8% smoothie sour with lactose. It’s described to contain fruity notes of pumpkin and spice, giving way to creamy vanilla and cheesecake.
Like all of your favourite desserts blended into one!
Chocolate Banana Imperial Stout
Looking for something creamy and delicious? Whistle Buoy has released a Chocolate Banana Imperial Stout!
It’s described as a wave of decadent dark chocolate with banana and creamy vanilla, with the dark malts adding layers to the chocolate.
A real treat, and at 10%, it definitely packs a punch!

Herald Street Brew Works: Archfiend
Celebrate the launch of Herald Street Brew Works’ newest beer, Archfiend, on Saturday, October 26th!
Archfiend is a dark, rich Imperial Stout clocking in at 9.5 abv., ready to fill all of your winter beer needs.
The event will start at 3 p.m., cover is $10 starting at 6 p.m. There will be live musical performances and guest beer from a couple other iconic breweries!

Vancouver Island Brewing: Hermannator Ice Bock
It’s that time of year!
Vancouver Island Brewing is welcoming back their beloved Hermannator Ice Bock, made for friends & family of our original brewmaster, Hermann.
This beer takes over three months to produce, spending significant time at subzero temperatures to create a rich malt body, with notes of chocolate, coffee & brandied plums.

Driftwood Brewing Company: Blackstone Porter
Driftwood Brewery describes The Blackstone Porter as a porter with an ample body to support the flavours of chocolate and coffee derived from dark specialty malts.
It’s a sessionable porter, which means: it goes down easy.
Driftwood says it’s a perfect companion to good conversation when the rain is lashing at the windows and is mostly available during the colder months.
Get it while you can!

Lighthouse Brewing: RED-Y as She Goes
Lighthouse Brewing has released a new pilot brew called RED-Y as She Goes!
It’s a classic red ale with cascade and centennial hops, and might be your new favourite autumn beer.

Small Gods Brewing: The Last Day Imperial Stout
Stout weather is upon us, and Small Gods Brewing has released their own statement beer to mark the occasion!
Released earlier this month, The Last Day Imperial Stout is an ultra-black stout that’s ready to be drank fresh or cellared for a year or two—save it for a rainy day or drink it ASAP, either way it’s a pure expression of classic the Imperial Stout.
