On Tuesday June 28th, six officers with the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team (GVERT) were injured when gunfire erupted during a botched bank robbery.
Three officers were from the Saanich Police Department while the other three officers are members of the Victoria Police Department.
Multiple officers responded to the scene and encountered the armed suspects who fired at police. Two suspects were shot and killed at the scene.
Three of the injured police officers remain in hospital in serious condition, while three others were treated and released.
