Oak Bay Police had an eventful St. Patrick’s Day last Friday with two incidents and a check-stop that checked the sobriety of 45 drivers.

On March 17th, at the corner of Cadboro Bay Road and Eastdowne Road, a hit-and-run occurred that police responded to.

According to police, a driver reported his car being rear-ended by another vehicle while stopped at the intersection.

Following the collision, the driver of the vehicle which struck him exited the vehicle and ran away on foot.

The passenger and owner of the vehicle which rear-ended the man’s car identified the driver who fled as a 29-year-old woman.

Police say both vehicles had extensive damage and all occupants sustained minor injuries from the collision.

Oak Bay Police have not yet located the suspect who fled on foot and the matter is still under investigation.
