He is used to chasing big storms, but happy to visit stormless Victoria for the opening of his latest film, Extreme Weather at IMAX® Victoria in the Royal BC Museum.
On October 26 and 27, extreme filmmaker Sean Casey will present behind-the-scenes insights and conduct a Q & A that will entertain and inform audiences at two screenings each evening.
Extreme Weather, which opens to the public at IMAX® on October 28, is a visually stunning film about wildfires, melting glaciers, tornadoes and how these powerful forces are colliding.
Traveling to Alaska’s melting glaciers, cameras roll capturing the action as massive chunks of ice shear off into the frigid water with explosive force. In the Midwest, storm chasers risk their lives to capture data while deadly tornadoes race toward them. And in drought-ravaged California, filmakers embed themselves with courageous first responders fighting to contain raging wildfires.
“Sean is a legend in the IMAX world and a very interesting, inspired character,” said Theatre Director, Paul Wild. “I always find speaking with him about his film making experiences fascinating and I’m pleased to be able to offer IMAX Victoria audiences the same opportunity.”
