Oak Bay police have located a vehicle belonging to a 74-year-old Times Colonist delivery driver that was reported stolen on Sunday, Aug. 19.

The victim reported the theft after an unknown man pushed him to the ground, took his car keys, got into the vehicle, and drove away.

The vehicle—a brown 1999 Oldsmobile—was located at the lot of a Victoria-based towing company that had towed and impounded the vehicle on Monday afternoon. Oak Bay police were informed of the vehicle’s location on Tuesday.

According to police, the Oldsmobile had been found parked illegally near Quadra Avenue and View Street.

Investigators located the vehicle’s keys in the car, and nothing was reported to be missing or damaged. The car has now been returned to its owner.

Police are not able to discuss any further details, and are still investigating. Members of the public with any information are encouraged to come forward.
