This Victoria ice cream parlour has flavours you’ve probably never tried before

Share

You’ve seen or tried tasting flights of wine and beer but have you ever experienced a flight of ice cream?

That’s where Kid Sister Ice Cream stands out from the crowd!

Originally selling paletas (Mexican-style popsicles) at local markets, Kid Sister has already outgrown one location on Fisgard St and are currently situated in a cozy little shop tucked away in the middle of Fan Tan Alley.

Having complimentary palettes allows the guys behind the ice cream production, Brett and David, to come up with some complex flavours that might have you scratching your head…until you try them!

We bet you’ve never heard of these ingredients

Ever tried salgam – the popular turnip-based beverage from Turkey? Or mastic – a sort of dried gum obtained from a tree?

Mix those exotic ingredients with others like rose water, saffron, cardamom, and pistachios, and you’ve got one of their unique Persian ice creams!

No individual flavours get lost in the mix as they all come together in a symphony your taste buds are going to love! We’ve found the ice cream isn’t overly sweet and they do offer vegan options, as well as a selection of their own sodas.

Making everything in-house without using any preservatives or fillers, keeping ingredients as local as possible, and producing virtually no waste are pillars to hang your business. But at Kid Sister, they’re just everyday occurrences.

Stop by soon, and embrace that childlike love for ice cream that nearly everyone has – before they sell out for the day!
