Looking for the best place to have a staycation?

US News & World Report has just released its annual ranking of the best hotels in Canada, showing that you don’t have to journey far to find a luxurious place to stay.

Each hotel’s ranking was determined by a combination of its professional reviews, guest reviews, and industry awards. Only hotels that were considered 4 stars or higher were examined, as well as select 3.5 star hotels that had received notable industry accolades.

“The highest-ranking hotels are typically those that both experts and users recognize for their exceptional quality,” reads US News’ methodology.

Beautiful British Columbia was represented well in this year’s ranking, claiming 9 of the top 15 spots on the list. Of those 9 hotels, Vancouver Island was home to 3 of them.

Here are the top 15 hotels in Canada, according to US News & World Report:

1. Rosewood Hotel Georgia, Vancouver

2. Clayoquot Wilderness Resort, Vancouver Island

3. Wedgewood Hotel & Spa, Vancouver

December ushers in a new season. Winter brings a slower pace of life to Fogo Island’s coastal communities, though excitement abounds towards the interior of the Island as Fogo Islanders like to retreat to seasonal winter cabins, enjoying exuberant days of snowmobiling, snowshoeing, sledding, and winter sports. Winter is an opportunity to recuperate from the busy warmer months, mending fishing nets, celebrating holidays (Christmastime on Fogo Island is like nowhere else), and enjoying traditional meals with friends and loved ones. Winter activities can also include skating and hockey games on frozen ponds, storm watching, and caribou tracking. You will quickly find that it isn’t difficult to keep warm in both body and spirit during the Island’s dynamic winter months.⠀ ⠀ #winter #december #winterwonderland #landscape #goremote #snow #architecture #adventure #travel #fogoislandinn #fogoisland #travellermade #explorenl #explorecanada #newfoundland #natgeo #natgeolodges
