

The TD Bank at Fort and Douglas Street was held up early Tuesday morning – sparking a large police presence in the area.

The robbery occurred at about 8:55 am. Staff at the bank were able to provide a good description of the suspect, and as a result, officers were able to locate and arrest the suspect within 10 minutes of the robbery.
A Victoria police traffic officer drove his motorcycle along the sidewalk for a short distance and caught up to the fleeing bank-robbery suspect on Courtney Street.

The suspect is known to police. No weapon is believed to have been produced in the robbery.
A note was posted at the entrance of the TD stating they are closed due to an emergency.
